posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The Universal Studios Japan theme park announced on Wednesday that its Universal Cool Japan 2018 event will include attractions inspired by Sailor Moon, Final Fantasy, Detective Conan, and Monster Hunter. Next year's annual event will run from January 19 to June 24.

The first wave of the event will feature Final Fantasy, Detective Conan, and Monster Hunter. The second wave, which will begin in spring, will feature Sailor Moon. Universal Studios Japan plans to reveal more information in late September.

After previously hosting One Piece and Biohazard (Resident Evil) events, the park held its first Universal Cool Japan event in 2015. The events feature attractions inspired by anime, manga, video games, and other aspects of Japanese popular culture. Past events have featured Attack on Titan, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Biohazard, Monster Hunter, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Detective Conan, and Godzilla.

Universal Studios Japan, which opened in Osaka in 2001, also began holding Universal Jump Summer events in 2016. The events feature attractions inspired by manga published in Shueisha's Shonen Jump magazine. Previous attractions have featured Haikyu!!, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Death Note, Boruto, My Hero Academia, One Piece, Gintama, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Universal Jump Summer will be back from June 30 to October 1 this year.
