Jojo's Killer Queen Gets High-End Bulgari Bags

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

Italian accessories designer Bulgari is taking a cue from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure for a limited capsule collection of bags, wallets, charms and silk scarves. Villain Yoshikage Kira's Stand Killer Queen is serving as the muse for the collection designed by creator Hirohiko Araki himself.

Araki is a fan of the Bulgari brand and wrote that he identifies with brand's strong use of symbolism, in this case, a snake. He relates a Stand as also a sort of protector, so he hopes that by putting the symbol for Killer Queen on everyday items, it will work like a protective charm for the owner.

The capsule collection includes two bags, three wallets, a key charm, and a silk scarf. The tote bag retails for 180,000 yen (US$1,600), the all bag retails for 250,000 yen (US$2,223), the scarf is 30,000 yen (US$266), the wallets are 75,000 yen (US$667), and the key charms are 45,000 yen (US$400).

The items will go on sale in the Isetan Shinjuku department store on November 1 followed by the Bulgari website on November 7.

Araki's fashion sense has won him the "Best Dresser Award" last year. His fashionable characters have appeared in magazine spreads and on the catwalk.

The "Araki Hirohiko Genga-ten JoJo-ten in S-shi Moriō-chō 2017" (Hirohiko Araki Key Frame Exhibit JoJo Exhibit in Morioh, S City) art exhibit took over Sendai, Miyagi from August 4 to September 10. The exhibit marked the 30th anniversary of Araki's manga.
