AbemaTV Clocks in the Some of the Fastest Anime Characters
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Japanese streaming service AbemaTV created a new ad centered on its motto as the world's fastest, free online streaming service. The new ad shows a variety of anime characters running as fast as they can while cataloging their individual speeds. Each character's speed isn't random; AbemaTV got The Dream-Science Laboratory's Rikao Yanagita (The Science of Attack on Titan) to scientifically calculate each character's quickness in kilometers.
Of the character's evaluated, Subaru from Re:Zero comes in last with a tortoise-like 5km per hour (3.1mph) when he carries Ram on his shoulders. The fastest character is Sword Art Online's Kirito who ran at a unstoppable 720km per hour (447mph) when he defeats a Dire Wolf in the anime's first episode.
A young Mikasa sped to save Armin and Eren from some bullies at a whopping 46km per hour (28.5mph) in Attack on Titan's second season.
Shin-chan's little sister Himawari manages to get up to 85km per hour (52.8mph) while climbing up a cliff in the Crayon Shin-chan Bakusui! Yumemi World Dai Totsugeki movie.
Lancer manages reach 194km per hour (120.5mph) while pursing Assassin in the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel I. presage flower film. His speed run was so impressive that it inspired its own browser game.
Finally, Special Week hits her stride at 239km per hour (148.5mph) during a race in Uma Musume Pretty Derby.
AbemaTV celebrates its third anniversary on April 11 and has a catalog of over 200 anime series.
