Listen to the Serene Sounds of Carole & Tuesday's 2nd OP 'Polly Jean'

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Carole & Tuesday singers Nai Br.XX and Celeina Ann are back for the sci-fi musical anime's second opening song "Polly Jean." The live-action music video focuses on the bond between the two singers as they've worked together over the course of the series.

The upcoming single will feature both the opening theme and the ending theme "Not Afraid" on August 28. Singer Alisa (vocals for Angela) performs the ending theme. Singer Leo Imai (Megalobox, Ghost in the Shell Arise) wrote the opening theme and Keigo Oyamada (aka Cornelius) composed and arranged the song. Lido is credited with writing, composing, and arranging the ending theme.

Carole & Tuesday is the new original anime by supervising director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance) and anime studio BONES. The story follows a hard-working girl named Carole who is scraping a living in the metropolis of Alba City while dreaming of creating music. She meets Tuesday, a wealthy girl whose family doesn't understand her desire to be a musician.

The show features a long list of impressive musical talent including m-flow's Taku Takahashi, electronic artist Maika Loubté, singer G.RINA, American bassist Thundercat, American record producer Flying Lotus, Canadian singer Mocky, Norwegian record producer Lido, Dutch singer Benny Sings, Seattle-based musician Jen Wood, Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley, songwriter Evan "Kidd" Bogart, composer Maisa Tsuno, Kings of Convenience's Eirik Glambek Bøeand, Cero, Taro Umebayashi, D.A.N., Madison McFerrin, Taylor McFerrin, Mark Redito, Alison Wonderland, and Nulbarich.

Fuji TV announced at its +Ultra panel at Anime Expo on Saturday that the first half of the 24-episode Carole & Tuesday anime will play worldwide on Netflix on August 30.
