Printer Group Require Adult Dōjinshi to Label Contents

posted on by Egan Loo
Group of 29 printers in Japan also requires printed contact information

The Japan Doujin-shi Printing Group, an organization of printers that cater to dōjinshi creators, posted new guidelines that require their customers with adult material to identify themselves and their contents' explicit nature. Adult dōjinshi published through these printers will now need an adults-only mark on its cover and a printed listing of the dōjinshi group's name, contact information, release date, and printer. The group represents 29 printers from all over Japan that offer to print dōjinshi.

The city governments of Osaka and Kyoto have flagged adult manga works whose covers do not indicate their explicit contents in June. In May, the National Confederation of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) for Japan released a poll that listed the magazines that parents do not want their children to read.
