Elementhunters Sci-Fi Adventure Anime to Debut in July (Update 2)

Japanese-Korean educational anime to teach chemistry to children

The official website of the Japanese public broadcaster NHK has announced that the Elementhunters anime series will premiere on its NHK-Educational channel in July. According to NHK's 2007 report, the company established the production committee for the project two years ago. The anime will be a science-fiction adventure aimed at children to teach chemical elements. The project is a joint production between Japan and Korea for both television and merchandising.

Update: According to the anime's official website, Kazunori Itō (.hack//SIGN, Magical Angel Creamy Mami, Maison Ikkoku) created the concept, while Yoshiaki Okumura (Antique Bakery, Bakkyuu HIT! Crash Bedaman) and Han-Pyo Hong is directing the anime. Naruhisa Arakawa (Blue Seed, D.N.Angel, Steel Angel Kurumi) is supervising the scripts, and Daigo Okumura (Tales of franchise, Yumeria game) is designing the characters. Ryuichi Kaneko (Gene Diver, RahXephon) is contributing to the development of the science fiction concepts, and Apuo Reino (SD Gundam) is contributing to the designs. NHK Enterprises and HeeWon Entertainment are producing the animation.
