Tales of Vesperia, Canaan, Aika Zero Promos Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
Vesperia film to premiere in October; Canaan, AIKa ZERO to debut on TV in July

The official website for the Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~ anime film has posted a 90-second special promotional video with music by Bonnie Pink (Gantz, Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor, Rurouni Kenshin). Kanta Kamei (Digimon: Diaboromon Strikes Back animation director, Kill Bill Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren visual supervisor) is directing Production I.G's theatrical adaptation of NAMCO's Tales of Vesperia role-playing game for the Xbox 360 console. Kōsuke Toriumi (Basilisk, Di Gi Charat, Naruto, To Heart) and Mamoru Miyano (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Death Note) play the heroes Yuri and Flynn, respectively. The original game was released in Japan and in the United States last August, and the film will open in Japan on October 3.

The official website for the CANAAN anime adaptation of Sega and Chunsoft's 428 ~Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de~ visual novel is streaming a new commercial for general audiences. The 17-second commercial includes part of the "mind as Judgment" song by Faylan that will be the opening theme. The modern-day story centers on a group of people, from all walks of life, who are brought together in the Tokyo neighborhood of Shibuya by bizarre events with worldwide implications. Sword of the Stranger director Masahiro Ando (not to be confused with the similarly named Sailor Moon animation director Masahiro Ando) is overseeing the animators at P.A. Works (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society, Darker than Black) on the anime version, which will premiere on July 4 in Japan.

The official website for the AIKa ZERO video anime project is streaming a 30-second promotional movie. The story of the young female agent-in-training takes place after the AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission prequel, but before the original Agent Aika video project. Noriyasu Yamauchi is designing the characters and supervising the animation in AIKa ZERO as he did for the earlier AIKa projects, but he is also directing this time. The first episode will get a special premiere on the AT-X premium television channel on July 5, before the August 25 DVD release.
