Happy Happy Clover's Tatsuyama Draws New Manga

Manga based on novel about dogs runs in Shogakukan's Ciao mag

The August issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine began serialization on Sayuri Tatsuyama's (Happy Happy Clover) new manga Aru Hi Inu no Kuni kara Tegami ga Kite (One Day A Letter Arrives from the Dog Kingdom) last Tuesday. The manga is an adaptation of Maruko Tanaka and Yūko Matsui's 2009 novel. The manga and the original novel revolve around deceased dogs who write and send moving letters to their former owners. The manga originally ran as a one-shot, but due to its popularity it has become a serialized work. The manga will also be released in collected volumes.

Viz Media previously published Tatsuyama's five-volume Happy Happy Clover manga in North America in 2009-2010. Happy Happy Clover was adapted into a 13-episode anime series that aired in 2007. Tatsuyama also created the one-volume Kumappuri manga about a bear prince that also ran in Ciao in 2008.
