I.G, Point Pictures Animate Ange Vierge Cards' Promo Video

posted on by Egan Loo

Anime studios Production I.G and Point Pictures produced a two-minute promotional video for Ange Vierge, the new trading card game franchise from light novel publishers Fujimi Shobo and Media Factory. The video features the theme song "Tears Breaker" from Konomi Suzuki (WATAMOTE, Dusk maiden of Amnesia, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou).

The story of the card game follows what happens when "Hairō" portals suddenly open, fusing three different worlds together. As a result, various mysterious "Exceed" powers are awakened in teenaged girls. An academy for these so-called "Progress" girls is built on the isolated Seiran Island in the Pacific.

The video shows four of the main girls:

Miumi Hinata (voiced by Yūka Aisaka), a first-year student from the blue world, Earth
Illustrator: Kantoku (HENNEKO, Magical Suite Prism Nana)

Sofina (Mai Ishihara), the brilliant witch from the dark world, Darkness Embraces
Illustrator: Kira Inugami (Student Council's Discretion, Ebiten: Kōritsu Ebisugawa Kōkō Tenmon-Bu)

Aurora (Saori Hayami), the amnesiac girl from the red world, Terra Rubli Aurora
Illustrator: Kurehito Misaki (How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend)

SW=Code Omega 46 Senia (Kana Hanazawa), the android girl from the white world, System;White=E.G.M.A
Illustrator: abec (Sword Art Online)

The game was first announced at an unveiling in Tokyo's Akihabara district in June. There are plans to expand the franchise with light novels, manga, and smartphone games.

The video debuted at the MF Bunko J imprint's Summer School Festival 2013 event last month, before it began streaming online this week. Starting this fall, there will be events for the game in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
