Love Live! School idol project Gets 1st Original Video Anime

Special OVA bundled with μ's idol group's 6th single

The official website for the Love Live! School idol project anime franchise announced on Friday that the sixth single of the anime's μ's idol group will bundle a special original video anime (OVA) on Blu-ray Disc. The brand new anime will be the franchise's first OVA.

The sixth single will come in three variants on November 27. The deluxe edition with Blu-ray and the standard edition with Blu-ray will both have the special OVA and song animation clips, running 15 minutes long. The standard edition with DVD will just have the animation clips, 5 minutes long.

All three variants will have the title song track, a second song, the vocal-less versions of both songs, and an audio drama.

The deluxe editions will also bundle an exclusive panorama sleeve that opens into a wide illustration board (126 x 606 millimeters or 5 x 25 inches), and an "Otonokizaka Academy Attendance Set." The set has an alpacca plush pass case, three heart-shaped keychains with unit single jacket illustrations, and a μ's lunch bag.

In 2010, the anime studio Sunrise, Lantis, and ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G Magazine launched Love Live! as a self-described "ultimate user-participation project" which lets its fans vote on the future of the fictional idols. A series of music CDs and animated music videos then followed. The members of the project announced last year that a full television anime series has been green-lit.

The series premiered in Japan on January 6. The media service Crunchyroll began streaming on January 8 at 11:00 a.m. EST. NIS America has licensed the series for North American release.
