Chiyomaru Shikura (Steins;Gate, Chaos;HEAd) acted as general producer, and Yuusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem: Awakening, No More Heroes) designed the characters. Geto Koyamashi (No More Heroes) supervised and created the mechanical designs. Marina performed the opening theme song "Kimi wa Mō, Hitori Janai" (You're Not Alone Anymore), and HIMEKA contributed the ending theme song "Tsu-Ba-Sa."

The game shipped for the PlayStation 3 in Japan on Thursday. The limited edition with original drama CD and soundtrack costs 9,240 yen (about US$93). The regular version costs 7,140 yen (US$72) and the download version costs 6,300 yen (US$63).

The Liberation Maiden shooter game received a worldwide release for iOS devices in March. The game was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS as part of the Guild01 game compilation with animation by Studio BONES.
