Inazuma Eleven Ends 5.5-Year TV Run, But New Film Is Coming

Fan-chosen Inazuma Best Eleven soccer team to debut against rival team this summer

The final episode of Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy aired on Wednesday, concluding the Inazuma Eleven franchise's five-and-a-half year television run. Level 5's Akihiro Hino confirmed the series' conclusion on Twitter but revealed that a new Inazuma Eleven project is planned.

The official Inazuma World blog announced that the characters chosen in the "Best Eleven!" fan poll will feature in a film slated to open in Japan this summer. Fans voted to choose the members of the Inazuma Best Eleven team that will face off against the special Battle Eleven team in the new anime. There will be an Inazuma Best Eleven trading card game, manga, character song album, and more to tie in with the anime.

The Inazuma Eleven soccer anime franchise is based on Level 5's game series of the same name. The original 127-episode anime series aired between 2008-2011, and has since inspired the Inazuma Eleven GO, Inazuma Eleven GO 2: Chrono Stone, and Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy sequel series, and three films.

Hulu began streaming the first 26 episodes of the original series with English and Spanish dubs in December.

Nintendo released an Inazuma Eleven 3DS game in North America in February. This marks the first Inazuma Eleven game in North America.
