Japanese Film Festival Ireland Line-Up

Travelling festival including Ghost in the Shell Arise, Patema Inverted, The Wind Rises, live-action Library Wars.

The Japanese Film Festival Ireland has announced its full schedule. The anime and manga-related screenings are listed below. The line-up includes Library Wars, a live-action adaptation of the manga Toshokan Sensō: Spitfire!, which was also adapted as an anime TV series and feature film. The links are to the particular screenings.

Gate Cinema, Cork - screening Ghost in the Shell Arise Parts 1 and 2 (pictured) on April 4 at 11.30 p.m. and the live-action Library Wars on April 5, 6.45 p.m.

Triskel Arts Centre - screening a double-bill of HAL and The Garden of Words (no link yet) on April 6 at 6.30, and Patema Inverted on April 8 at 6.30 p.m.

Eye Cinema, Wellpark, Galway - screening Patema Inverted on April 6 at 7 p.m., followed by the live-action Library Wars on April 9, also at 7p.m.

Kemmy Business School at University of Limerick - screening the live-action Library Wars on April 7 at 7 p.m., and Patema Inverted on April 8, also at 7 p.m.

Light House Cinema, Dublin - On April 9, there is a screening of The Wind Rises at 9.15 p.m. On April 11, there is a screening of Patema Inverted at 8.30 p.m, followed the same evening by Ghost in the Shell Arise Parts 1 and 2 at 10.30 p.m. On April 12, there is a screening of Princess Mononoke at 3.30 p.m; the live-action documentary Jimmy Murakami Illegal Alien, about the Japanese-American animator Jimmy Murakami (who died recently) at 6p.m.; and The Wind Rises at 8.30 p.m. April 13 has a screening of a double-bill of HAL and The Garden of Words.

Garter Lane Arts Centre, Waterford - screening Patema Inverted on April 16 at 7.30 p.m.

Henry Grattan Building at Dublin City University - screening the live-action Library Wars (no link) on April 17 at 6.15 p.m.
