Singer Daigo Plays Character Based on Himself in Love Stage!! Anime

Daisuke Hirakawa, Ryōtarō Okiayu, Sayaka Ōhara, Ryōhei Kimura, Showtaro Morikubo, Junji Majima, more join cast

The official website for the anime of Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou's Love Stage!! boys-love manga announced additional cast members on Thursday. Singer DAIGO will play Shōgo Sena, Izumi's elder brother. Shōgo is the vocalist for the super popular band Crusherz, and has a serious brother complex for Izumi.


DAIGO commented on the opportunity, laughing: "I've finally stepped into this world, too! I'm the only one who can do this." DAIGO is the blood-related younger brother to original manga creator Eiki Eiki. The model for the character was based off of DAIGO, and the name of the band Crusherz was taken from his former band, "BREAKERZ."

The rest of the new cast includes:


Daisuke Hirakawa as Rei Sagara, a manager at Sena Pro.


Ryōtarō Okiayu as Seiya Sena, Izumi and Shōgo's father who is the president of Sena Pro.


Sayaka Ōhara as Nagisa Sena, Izumi and Shōgo's mother who is a popular actress.


Kazutomi Yamamoto as Kōsuke Sotomura, Shōgo's manager.


Ryōhei Kimura as Takahiro Kuroi, a member of Izumi's manga club at college.


Kyōko Sakai as Kazumi Shino, a manager at B-DASH.


Showtaro Morikubo as Kojirō Ryūzaki, the president of B-DASH.


Junji Majima as Tenma Hidaka, Kojirō's secretary.

The anime adapts of Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou's boys-love manga series. The story revolves around Izumi Sena, a boy born into a family of ultra-famous entertainers. However, he is the only member of the family who is not in the entertainment industry, and he is a super otaku college student, too. He has been striving hard to become a manga creator, but he ends up starring in a television commercial. He eventually cross paths again with the very famous actor Ryūma, who becomes aware of his attraction towards Izumi.

Kenichi Kasai (Major, Bakuman., Nodame Cantabile) is directing the series at J.C. Staff. Michiko Yokote (xxxHOLiC, Squid Girl) is working on the series composition while Yōko Itō (key animator for Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Turn A Gundam) is in charge of character design. The show will premiere in July.
