Liberation Maiden SIN PS Vita Port's Anime Promo Streamed

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Limited edition of July 31 port of 2013 PS3 game comes with code for original short anime

5pb. began streaming two promotional videos for the PlayStation Vita port of its Kaihō Shōjo SIN (Liberation Maiden SIN) game on Tuesday. The limited edition of the game will include a product code to download the "Soreyuke! Mystical Dai-bu" comedy short that features super-deformed versions of the game's main characters.

The "Mystical Dai-bu" club name in the short's title is a play on the name of character Kiyoto Kaidō's "Mystical Dive" ability. Kiyoto is a mind reader for President Shōko Ōzora, and he also stars in the anime short. The Mystical Dai-bu club's only members are Kiyoto and Miburi Annōn. In the story, the club does strange activities and is about to be abolished. President Shōko Ōzora's Liberators join the club. 5pb. intends the slapstick short as a diversion from the game's serious tone.

The company also began streaming a standard promotional video for the game:

The port will feature a new opening movie with a theme song by marina, and will also have an ending theme song by voice actress Kana Hanazawa. More CG will be added to the game, and functions that make the game easier to play will be strengthened.

The game is a spinoff of Level 5 and Goichi "Suda51" Suda's Liberation Maiden shooting game, and follows Kiyoto Kaidō, a mind reader working for President Shōko Ōzora, who was the protagonist of the original Liberation Maiden game. The game's cast includes:

Tomoaki Maeno as Kiyoto Kaidō, a mind reader working for President Shōko Ōzora.

Kana Hanazawa as President Shōko Ōzora

Ken Narita as Saizō Kira

Ayane Sakura as Yoshino Sakuragi

Aoi Yūki as Chiruko Yuminami

Mamiko Noto as Hijiri Fuwa

Satomi Akesaka as Kaguya Akeboshi

Mikako Komatsu as Komiko Tamaki

Rina Satō as Miburi Annōn

Kaori Ishihara as Nagisa Sakonda

Noriko Hidaka as Chiaki Tokie

Sakiko Kawai as Shizuki Kyō

Tadashi Mutou as Satoya Nonaka

Suda (No More Heroes, Lollipop Chainsaw) contributed some of the game's scenario and served as supervisor. Chiyomaru Shikura (Steins;Gate, Chaos;HEAd) acted as general producer, and Yuusuke Kozaki (Fire Emblem: Awakening, No More Heroes) designed the characters. Geto Koyamashi (No More Heroes) supervised and created mechanical designs.

The game will ship for the PS Vita in Japan on July 31, with a normal copy retailing for 6,800 yen (about US$68) and a limited-edition copy bundled with a production materials booklet for 8,800 yen (about US$88). A downloadable version of the game will be available on the PlayStation Store for 6,000 yen (about US$60).

The Liberation Maiden shooter game received a worldwide release for iOS devices last March. The game was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS as part of the Guild01 game compilation with animation by Studio BONES.
