Casting Voice PS3 Game's Promo Previews Tales of Scripts

Many voice actors/actresses in June 19 game provided voices to various characters in the Tales of series

Namco Bandai Games began streaming two new promotional videos previewing the feature which allows players to use scripts from the Tales of series of games to conduct recording. The first promotional video is specifically for the Tales of Festival event, which will be held at the Yokohama Arena this Saturday and Sunday.

Although the voice actors and actresses play different Tales of characters in the video, many of the actors and actresses featured in the video have played characters in the game series in the past. These include Ryotaro Okiayu (voice of Tales of Xillia's Gaius), Miyuki Sawashiro (Tales of Xillia's Milla), and Takashi Kondo (Tales of Xillia 2's Ludger) playing Tales of the Abyss's Jade, Tear, and Luke, respectively, Tsubasa Yonaga (Tales of Xillia's Jude) and Kaori Nazuka (Tales of Innocence's Ange) as Tales of Symphonia's Lloyd and Collet, and Hikaru Midorikawa (Tales of Destiny's Leon) as multiple characters.

The game has several modes:

  • producer mode - selecting among the different anime, game, live-action scripts to create a dialogue soundtrack
  • casting mode - choosing the voices for each character
  • post-recording mode - the player can record his or her own voice for roles
  • recording mode - the player can mix and release the dialogue soundtrack

The game will include scripts from the Tales of video game series. The game will feature more than 40 different fictitious voice actors, from rookies to veterans in the industry. The cast includes:

The game will be released in limited and standard editions on June 19. Players can also purchase a USB microphone separately and cast themselves, too. The first copies of the game will include a download code for Nobunaga Shimazaki as Kyoya Garyuin and Rie Tanaka as Mirei Saiguji. The creators also plan to release additional characters and scenarios as DLC.
