Vampire Knight's Hino Starts Shuriken to Pleats Manga

posted on by Sarah Nelkin
New series follows schoolgirl descendent of ninjas who serves a man in modern-day Kyushu

The preview for the September issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine is listing that Vampire Knight creator Matsuri Hino will begin a new manga series titled Shuriken to Pleats (Throwing Star & Pleats) in the issue. The first chapter will contain 50 pages, including a color page, and will also don the cover of the issue.

The manga revolves around Mikage (lit. beautiful shadow), a schoolgirl who is the descendent of ninjas. She lives in modern-day Kyushu, and she serves a certain man.

Hino launched her Vampire Knight manga in LaLa in 2004, and she ended the manga last year. Viz Media will publish the 19th and final volume in North America on October 27, and the company also released the 2008 Vampire Knight anime series and its Vampire Knight Guilty followup. Viz also licensed and released her MeruPuri - The Marchen Prince, Captive Hearts, and Wanted manga in North America.
