Ryota Ohsaka, Saori Hayami star in 1st romantic comedy anime DVD on December 17

This year's 33rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Toshiki Masuda and Maaya Uchida are joining the cast of the Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo manga's original anime DVD project. Masuda will play the class vice-president and supernatural phenomenon research club vice-president Toranosuke Miyamura (pictured top left), while Uchida will play the club member Miyabi Itō (bottom left). The first original anime DVD will ship on December 17.

Ryota Ohsaka and Saori Hayami will star as Ryū Yamada (top center) and Urara Shiraishi (top right), and the anime is holding open auditions for another student role, Kentarō Tsubaki (bottom right). The story of Miki Yoshikawa's original "love x kiss x comedy" manga begins when Yamada, the high school's worst problem child, bumps into the beautiful honor student Shiraishi on the stairs, and their lips touch as they fall. When they regain their wits, they realize that they have swapped bodies. As time progresses, the two realize that this is not the only mysterious happening in the school.

Tomoki Takuno (episode director on IDOLM@STER: XENOGLOSSIA, Love Live! School idol project) is directing the project at LIDEN FILMS with assistant director Fumiaki Usui. Eriko Iida (episode animation director on Love Live! School idol project) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Yota Tsuruoka is the sound director.

Yoshikawa launched the manga in 2012, and the series is currently running in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Kodansha will publish the 13th volume of the manga on July 17 with the pre-order form for the first original anime DVD. Crunchyroll is releasing manga chapters online overseas as they are published in Japan. The manga already inspired two promotional videos, including the one that announced the anime:

The manga features cameos by characters from Yoshikawa's earlier Yankee-kun to Megane-chan manga, which inspired a live-action television series. Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo also received a live-action adaptation which premiered on the Fuji TV channel last August. LIDEN FILMS animated the first promotional video.
