Daisuki to Stream Aikatsu! TV Anime

Anime distribution website Daisuki.net confirmed on Monday that it will stream all 50 episodes of the original Aikatsu! television anime series. The first 13 episodes will premiere at 10:00 p.m. EDT on September 4, with a new batch of episodes added every week for the month of September.

The episodes will be available for free with English subtitles in the United States, Canada, Central & South America (except for American Samoa, Guam, Palau, Marshall Islands and Northern Mariana Islands), Europe (all countries), Africa (all countries except Mauritius), Oceania (all countries except Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Tonga, Nauru, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Micronesia, Federated States and Western Samoa), the Middle East (all countries), and Antarctica.

Daisuki describes the series:

Ichigo Hoshimiya is an average first-year middle school student, but after her best friend Aoi encourages her to enter Starlight Academy, a famous idol-training school, Ichigo's whole life changes. She meets various rivals, becomes proficient in abilities that are integral to idols, and uses Aikatsu! cards while challenging herself with an array of auditions.

The curtain has risen on newbie idol Ichigo's cheerful, energetic idol activity!

Sunrise produced the series, which premiered in 2012, and Bandai distributes the associated merchandise. The anime spawned a second series which began last October. A third series is slated for this October and a film based on the franchise will premiere on December 13.
