Nisekoi Manga #16 to Bundle New Original Video Anime

SHAFT's TV anime staff to adapt manga chapters 65 & 71 for 25-minute OVA

This year's 43rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Naoshi Komi's 16th Nisekoi manga volume will also bundle an original video anime (OVA). The 25-minute OVA will adapt two chapters from the manga: chapter 65 "Henbō" (in the manga's eighth volume) about the heroines during the New Year's holiday, and chapter 71 "Oshigoto" (in the eighth volume) about Marika's part-time job at a family restaurant.

Chief director Akiyuki Shinbo, director Naoyuki Tatsuwa, character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama, the anime studio SHAFT, and the main cast are all returning for the OVA after working on the television anime.

The bundle will ship for 3,400 yen (about US$31) plus tax on February 4, 2015. The bundle will include a book jacket with an exclusive illustration, a new Weiss Schwarz PR card of Nisekoi, and a limited promotional Nisekoi trading card from MOVIC. The 14th manga volume will also bundle an original video anime on DVD in October.

The manga and anime revolve around Raku Ichijō (Kōki Uchiyama), a normal high school student who happens to be the heir to a yakuza group. The attractive but violent transfer student Chitoge Kirisaki (Nao Tōyama), the heir to a rival yakuza group, transfers to his class, and the two must pretend to date to keep a war from breaking out between their families.

Viz Media is releasing the original manga digitally and in print. Aniplex of America plans to release the television anime series on Blu-ray Disc in November, and Crunchyroll streamed the television anime as it aired in Japan.
