Kodansha USA Adds Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE, Fairy Tail: Blue Mistral, L DK, Inuyashiki Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Kodansha Comics announced at its New York Comic Con panel on Sunday that it will publish L DK (L♥DK), Inuyashiki, Fairy Tail: Blue Mistral and Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE manga series.

L DK by Ayu Watanabe follows the new couple Shusei and Aoi. Shusei is the high school's resident "prince" and has a reputation of coldly turning down any of his suitors. Aoi's best friend is rejected by Shusei, cementing Aoi's disdain for him. However, when Shusei's apartment burns to the ground, the two end up rooming together.

Watanbe serializes the series in Bessatsu Friend magazine and the 14th compiled volume shipped on February 13. The manga inspired a live-action film starring Ayame Gōriki (Black Butler, Gatchaman, Mirai Nikki- Another: World) as Aoi and Kento Yamazaki (Kyō, Koi wo Hajimemasu) as love-interest Shūsei.

The Inuyashiki (Dog Mansion) manga by Gantz's Hiroya Oku launched in Kodansha's Evening magazine on January 28. Kodansha Comic's describes the sci-fi story:

Inuyashiki has a family that doesn't care about him. When he finds he has three months left to live, he realizes that the only one that will miss him is his dog. But his death comes sooner than expected when aliens crash into him. They rebuild him, but when they're done he's No Longer Human. What will this mean for Inuyashiki?

The second compiled volume will ship in Japan on October 23.

Fairy Tail: Blue Mistral is a spinoff manga by Rui Watanabe based on Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga series. The shojo manga launched in Nakayoshi magazine on August 2. Kodansha USA describes the story:

Fairy Tail: Blue Mistral stars Wendy Marvell, fan favorite member of the Fairy Tail guild. This new manga by Rui Watanabe tells the story of Wendy's life before she joined Fairy Tail.

CLAMP launched Tsubasa: WoRLD CHRoNiCLE in Kodansha's Magazine Special on August 20. The magazine teased the series as “a new story of Tsubasa that is connected to xxxHOLiC: Rei.”

Clamp began Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, their manga that bring together characters from their past series, in 2003, and ended it in 2009. The manga inspired two television anime series, a feature film, and two original video animation (OVA) projects, all of which are licensed by Funimation in North America.

Del Rey once published all 28 compiled English volumes of Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE in North America, and Kodansha USA publishes the team's xxxHOLiC: Rei manga in English.
