Smartphone Game Lets You Become a Hello! Project Idol

Smartphone game developer Askiss unveiled the "Hello Pro Tap Live" game last week with an official website. The "rhythm action x idol-raising" game launches for iOS and Android devices this month. Basic gameplay is free, but some aspects of the game costs money.
In the game, the player becomes a new artist who aims to become a top idol alongside other Hello! Project artists. In the rhythm game mode, the player can get idols as gachapon (capsule machine) prizes and event rewards. Then the player can make an original idol group to clear the rhythm game mode with varying degrees of difficulty. The player must become an idol and tap the correct mark in time with hit songs while utilizing combos and skills to clear a stage.
In the story game mode, the player interacts with Hello! Project idols in various situations. The player can also use acquired avatar items to change the appearance of the player character. The character's skills vary depending on which avatar items are in use.
Many idols from Hello! Project groups such as Morning Musume '14 and Berryz Koubou are available in the game. The characters change if new members join or graduate from the real-life idol groups.
Hello! Project is a female idol collective helmed chiefly by producer Tsunku. He announced last month that his laryngeal cancer has returned.
Hello! Project's current idol groups include Morning Musume '14, Berryz Koubou, C-ute, S/mileage, and Juice=Juice. Berryz Koubou announced in August that the unit will be put on hiatus indefinitely starting in spring 2015.
