Rock Band Sekai no Owari Inspires 2-Chapter Manga

posted on by Tiara Hamilton
Manga to be published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine

Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine will publish SEKAI NO OWARI Monogatari (SEKAI NO OWARI Story), a new two-chapter manga based on the four-member Japanese rock band SEKAI NO OWARI.

Weekly Shōnen Magazine will published the manga in 2015's combined second/third issue on December 10 and in the combined fourth/fifth issue on December 24. Atsunori Horiuchi (Baby World End) illustrates the manga, and both chapters will have color pages. The combined second/third issue will include photos and an interview of the band, and the magazine will offer exclusive goods via a mail-in offer.

SEKAI NO OWARI was formed in 2007 in Tokyo. The four members are Satoshi Fukase, Saori Fujisaki, Shinichi "Nakajin" Nakajima, and DJ Love. The J-Rock band did a collaborating song, called "Tokyo," with Owl City in October.

In September, the band performed the theme song for the live-action film of Akiko Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish (Kuragehime) manga. The band also performed the theme song to the 2013 movie Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Bakauma—! B-Kyū Gourmet Survival!!, and band vocalist Fukase sang the opening theme song for Devil Survivor 2 The Animation.
