The video unveils the main cast for the anime. The voice actresses are returning from the original mobile game and character song CDs:

Ayaka Ohashi (Sabagebu!'s Momoka) as Uzuki Shimamura, a 17-year old girl from Tokyo. Always smiling, her smile is like a flower and leaves an impact. She has a positive and bright personality, and her feelings for wanting to become an idol won't lose to anyone. She appears to be a normal girl you would find anywhere, but her earnest personality makes everyone around her love her. Her hobby is having long talks on the phone with friends.

Ayaka Fukuhara (Trinity Seven's Lugh) as Rin Shibuya, a 15-year old girl from Tokyo. She leaves quite the impact with her glossy hair and school uniform, and is a very modern and cool female high school student. Her family runs a flower shop, and she sometimes helps out in the front. At first glance, she appears to be a lone wolf type who is hard to get along with, but she shows her honest self to those she's come to trust. Her hobby is bringing her dogs on walks.

Sayuri Hara (Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream's Rizumu) as Mio Honda, a 15-year old girl from Chiba Prefecture. She has a very friendly and energetic personality. The mood-maker of the group, she often drags along people with her endless energy. At times, she gives strange nicknames to the idols around her. Her hobby is shopping.

Tomoyo Kurosawa (Aikatsu's Otome) as Miria Akagi, an 11-year old girl from Tokyo. An elementary school student, she had a childish and pure dream of becoming an idol because she loves cute things, and wants to become an idol that wears cute outfits, sings cute songs, and dances cute songs. She has a childish personality, being air-headed and energetic. Her hobby is chit-chatting.

Sumire Uesaka (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!'s Sora) as Anastasia, a 15-year old girl from Hokkaido. A girl of mixed-ethnicity, her mother is a Japanese woman and her father is a Russian man. Her nickname is Anya, and has no problem listening to both Japanese and Russian, but has some trouble speaking them at times. Her hobbies include home parties and astronomical observation.

Naomi Ozora (Inari Kon Kon's Inari) as Chieri Ogata, a 16-year old girl from Mie Prefecture. She has a bit of a lonely personality due to her parents' busy schedules. She has strong feelings toward four-leaf clovers, which have a connection to the memories of when her family was happy. She seems to compare herself to the clover, which can bear through the cold of winter. She has a kind heart that can wish for the happiness of everyone. Her hobby is collecting four-leaf clovers.

Maaya Uchida (Noragami's Hiyori) as Ranko Kanzaki, a 14-year old girl from Kumamoto Prefecture. Ranko is never seen not dressed in her gothic lolita outfit. She is often misunderstood due to the things she says because of her chūnibyō identity (in particular, she is obsessed with anime to a point of acting like the characters), but inside, she is in fact an honest, serious, and hard-working girl. She also has a bit of a bashful side. Her hobby is drawing pictures.

Nozomi Yamamoto (PriPara's Cosmo) as Rika Jōgasaki, a 12-year old girl from Saitama Prefecture. She entered the world of idols to chase after her beloved elder sister, Mika, who is also an idol. She is a "chibi gal" who often borrows her sister's clothes and imitates her fashion. She is even going so far as to try and increase the degree of exposure in her outfits. Her hobby is collecting stickers.

Ruriko Aoki (il sole penetra le illusioni ~ Day Break Illusion's Priscilla) as Riina Tada, a 17-year old girl from Tokyo. She has a strong admiration toward the concept of rock, but due to her not having any knowledge of the genre or experience with it, she might have a bit of a wishy-washy personality. Her insistence on becoming a rock idol is very strong. Her hobby is listening to music.

Aya Suzaki (Tamako Love Story's Tamako) as Minami Nitta, a 19-year old girl from Hiroshima Prefecture. A college student in the lacross club, she is quite the high class lady, but when she found herself worried about not knowing what to do with her life, she encountered the idol world. She has a serious personality, and cares deeply for her family. Her hobbies are lacrosse and acquiring new qualifications.

Hiromi Igarashi (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!'s Hina) as Anzu Futaba, a 17-year old girl from Hokkaido. She just likes rolling around and sleeping, and although she is an idol, she never has energy or motivation to do anything. She is always holding onto her stuffed animal. She entered the idol world due her thought of, "If I succeed as an idol, I can just live on royalties." She has no hobbies.

Natsumi Takamori (Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future's Reina) as Miku Maekawa, a 15-year old girl from Osaka. She loves cats, and as an idol, she puts on cat ears and puts a "meow" at the end of her sentences. Even though she acts like a cat, she actually hates fish. Her hobby is touring various cat cafes.

Yuka Otsubo (Hanayamata's Tami) as Kanako Mimura, a 17-year old girl from Tokyo. She loves making and eating sweets, and possibly because of this, she is just a bit pudgy. Her greatest quality is her calming personality and atmosphere. Her hobby is making sweets.

Rei Matsuzaki (Angel's Drop's Botan) as Kirari Moroboshi, a 17-year old girl from Tokyo. She's tall, but loves cute things more than anything. She is more girly than anyone else on the inside, and always arranges her clothes fashionably or does her nails. Dreaming of a life of being loved by everyone, she entered the idol world. It appears that her height is still increasing. Her hobby is collecting cute things.

The video also previews characters Nana Abe and Mika Jōgasaki, voiced by Marie Miyake (Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future's So Min) and Haruka Yoshimura (Celestial Method's Koharu), respectively. Nana is an "eternal 17-year old" idol, while Mika is the gal-style elder sister of Rika.

Much of the staff from the 2011 The Idolm@ster anime series will return for the Cinderella Girls anime. Noriko Takao will direct the series at A-1 Pictures, and will also the supervise series scripts alongside Tatsuya Takahashi. Yuusuke Matsuo (The Idolm@ster Anim@tion Master Namassuka Special CD jacket illustration, Yama no Susume character design) will design the characters.

The anime will premiere in Japan on January 9.

As of 2012, the idol-raising mobile game earns about 1 billion yen (about US$9.6 million) each month, and has over four million users. The game has inspired a line of goods, various manga adaptations, and the 30th through 35th CD character song singles will be released sometime next year. The first five character song singles released ranked in the top 10 on the weekly Oricon charts.
