Live-Action Otoko no Isshō Film's Trailer Previews Love Story

Romance starring Nana Eikura, Etsushi Toyokawa to open on Valentine's Day

The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Keiko Nishi's Otoko no Isshō (A Man's Lifetime) manga began streaming a trailer on Friday. The trailer features JUJU's theme song "Hold me, Hold you."

The video introduces the films story, which follows a young woman named Tsumugi who is tired of city life and says she will never fall in love. She quits her job and moves into her late grandmother's rural home. She expects to live alone but finds a 52-year-old unmarried college professor, Jun, living in the house, and the two begin a strange life together. In spite of their age difference they gradually fall in love.

The film will open in Japanese theaters on Valentines Day—February 14, 2015. Before its national debut, it first premiered at the Tokyo Film Festival in October.

Ryūichi Hiroki (800: Two Lap Runner, April Bride) is directing the film from scripts by Hiroshi Saitō. Kōji Endō (L♥DK, Limit live-action adaptations) is composing the soundtrack.

The Otoko no Isshō manga was one of ten titles nominated for the Manga Taisho awards in 2010. JManga published two volumes of Nishi's four-volume series Kyudo Boys digitally in English before the the site ended service in May. Nishi's Ane no Kekkon manga ranked at #4 on a list of best manga for female readers in Takarajimasha Inc.'s 2012 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook.
