Yūya Kanzaki's Ouroboros Manga 'Nearing Climax' in Comic @ Bunch Mag

posted on by Egan Loo
Live-action adaptation starring Shun Oguri, Toma Ikuta premiered last week

The March issue of Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine revealed on Wednesday in its preview image for the April issue that Yūya Kanzaki's Ouroboros - Keisatsu o Sabaku wa Ware ni Ari- manga is "on the verge of the climax in this magazine." In Japanese, the word "climax" is often used to mean "ending." The preview adds, "Where will the two stories go from here?"

However, the official Monthly Comic @Bunch website's preview image for the April issue — which uses the same image as the magazine — says the manga "has already hit its climax in this magazine."

In the story, Ikuo Ryūzaki and Tatsuya Danno have vowed vengeance against the men behind an organization that caused the death of a beloved figure in their childhood. Ryūzaki became a police officer, while Danno became a criminal. Together, they secretly plan to take down the corrupt police system behind it all.

Kanzaki launched the manga in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine in 2009, and Shinchosha published the 19th compiled volume on January 9.

A live-action television adaptation starring Toma Ikuta (Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e, We Were There, Akihabara @ DEEP, Honey and Clover, Mogura no Uta) and Shun Oguri (Lupin III, Captain Harlock, Detective Conan, Hana Yori Dango, Space Brothers) premiered on TBS on January 16. The drama airs on Fridays at 10:00 p.m.
