Madman Adds Saekano to AnimeLab

AnimeLab adds another series with Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend available for Australia and New Zealand;

Madman Entertainment's AnimeLab announced today that Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend is now available on the service. You can watch the first two episodes on AnimeLab.com.

Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend

Aki Tomoyo is a highschool otaku working to support his anime addicition who meets a beautiful girl on his way home during spring vacation. This random meeting leaves it's mark on Aki who then decides to create his own dating game with the heroine based on the girl. With Aki's two close friends helping him out on the game, artist Eriri Spencer Sawamura and literary genius Utaha Kasumigaoka, things quickly become more complicated when Aki discovers the girl, Megumi, is his classmate.

Saekano is based on the original light novel series by Fumiaki Maruto (White Album 2) with illustrations by Kurehito Misaki, the series has 7 volumes published to date under Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. This anime adaptation is directed by Kanta Kamei (Bunny Drop, Nanana's Buried Treasure, Oreshura, Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~) at A-1 Pictures with Maruto! (White Album 2) himself writing the scripts and Hajime Hyakkoku (K-ON!, GJ Club) of F.M.F is composing the music.

The cast includes:

  • Saori Ōnishi (Senki Zesshō Symphogear G 's Ayumi, The Pet Girl of Sakurasou's Shiho) as Eriri Spencer Sawamura
  • Ai Kayano (anohana's Menma, Guilty Crown's Inori) as Utaha Kasumigaoka
  • Sayuri Yahagi (To Love-Ru's Haruna Sairenji, Hayate the Combat Butler's Izumi Segawa) as Michiru Hyōdō
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online's Kirito, Buddy Complex's Aoba Watase) as Tomoya Aki
  • Chinatsu Akasaki (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!' Shinka) as Izumi Hashima
  • Tetsuya Kakihara (Fairy Tail's Natsu) as Iori Hashima

The anime premiered on the 8th of January as part of Fuji TV's Noitamina block, the series has been licenses by Aniplex of America and is being streamed by Crunchyroll in select terrortories.

A PSVita adventure game has recently been announced utilising the Live2D software to bring the game's cast to life.
