Trustrick, Local Connect to Perform Ore Monogatari!! Anime Theme Songs

The official website for the television anime of Kazune Kawahara and Aruko's My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!) manga announced on Friday that Japanese rock bands TRUSTRICK (pictured right) and Local Connect (pictured left) will perform the series' theme songs. TRUSTRICK will sing the opening theme, and Local Connect will perform the ending theme. The website also announced that the S.E.N.S. Project (Tōfu Kozō, Kimi ni Todoke) will compose the anime's soundtrack.
The TRUSTRICK duo consists of vocalist Sayaka Kanda and guitarist Billy. TRUSTRICK performed the opening theme song for the Unlimited Fafnir anime that premiered in January. The pair also contributed a theme song to the Danganronpa The Stage ~Kibō no Gakuen to Zetsubō no Kōkōsei~ (Danganronpa The Stage: The Academy of Hope and the High School Student of Despair) play that ran in Tokyo last fall.
The members of Local Connect previously performed with other groups and joined to form the new rock band this year. The five-member group made its live performance debut this month. Members Isato and DAIKI provide the band's vocals.
The anime's main cast will include:
- Takuya Eguchi as Takeo Gōda
- Megumi Han as Rinko Yamato
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Makoto Sunakawa
Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru, Aoi Bungaku Series' No Longer Human, NANA, Card Captor Sakura) is directing the anime at the Studio Madhouse (Parasyte, Hunter x Hunter, Summer Wars, Paprika). Natsuko Takahashi (Brothers Conflict, Nobunaga Concerto, Akatsuki no Yona, Yōkai Watch) is in charge of the series scripts, and Kunihiko Hamada (Chihayafuru, NANA, Monster, Summer Wars) is designing the characters.
The anime series will premiere on Japan's NTV networks this spring.
Viz Media is publishing the shōjo romantic comedy manga in North America, and it describes the story:
Takeo Gōda is a giant guy with a giant heart. Too bad the girls don't want him! (They want his good-looking best friend, Sunakawa.) But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his (love!) life suddenly takes an incredible turn!
Kawahara debuted the original 100-page version of the story in Bessatsu Margaret Sister magazine in October 2011, but the manga then returned in Bessatsu Margaret as a serialized work. Shueisha released the seventh compiled book volume in Japan in November, and Viz released the third volume in January.
