  • A Boring World Where The Concept Of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist!

It's 16 years since the "Law for Public Order and Morals in Healthy Child-Raising" banned coarse language in the country. When Tanukichi Okuma enrolls in the country's leading elite public morals school he is soon "invited" (see - blackmailed) into the Anti-Societal Organization (SOX) by its founder, Ayame Kajō. As a result Tanukichi is forced into taking part in obscene acts of terrorism against the talented student council president (AKA - the girl he has a major crush on).

A Boring World Where The Concept Of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist! (Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai or Shimoseka for short) is adapted from Hirotaka Akagi light novels. The series, illustrated by Eight Shimotsuki, has been published by Shogakukan since July 2012 under their Gagaga Bunko imprint and to date has eight volumes available. A manga adaptation titled Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai: Man**-hen was written by Akagi and illustrated N' Yuzuki that has been running in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade magazine since May 2014.

This anime adaptation will be directed by Youhei Suzuki (The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat.) with series scripts by Masahiro Yokotani (Free! Eternal Summer, Riddle Story of Devil) at J.C. Staff. Masahiro Fujii (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Hayate the Combat Butler, The Familiar of Zero) is adapting Eight Shimotsuki's original character designs. Akiyuki Tateyama is scoring the music with the production label Starchild. Jin Aketagawa is directing the sound, and GENCO is producing the anime. Sumire Uesaka will perform the show's ending theme "Inner Urge."

The show will premiere on Tokyo MX1 on July 4 at 1:30 a.m., and will air on the same time slot every Saturday.

At the time of writing this article, AnimeLab is the first company outside of Japan to announce licensing A Boring World Where The Concept Of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist!.

    Charlotte

In a very small number of young boys and girls, the onset of puberty brings with it special abilities beyond mortal ken. Yū Otosaka has one such ability and he uses his power to live a fairly normal, average school life. Suddenly in front of Yū a girl named Nao Tomori appeared and due to this chance meeting the fate of special power-users will be exposed.

Yoshiyuki Asai is directing the anime at P.A. Works from an original concept and scripts by Jun Maeda. Kanami Sekiguchi is adapting Na-Ga's original character designs. Lia performs the opening theme song "Bravely You," and Aoi Tada performs the ending theme song "Yake Ochinai Tsubasa." Maeda is composing and writing the lyrics for both songs. The band ZHIEND and the vocalist Marina perform the background music. Maeda also produces the background music compositions, and Hikarisyuyo composes the songs.

Key is releasing the anime in celebration of its 15th anniversary, and the series will be Maeda's second original anime work, with the first being Angel Beats! in 2010. A special for the series has already aired earlier this month introducing the show's staff, story and characters.

Aniplex USA has licensed the series in North America and will simulcast Charlotte on Crunchyroll, Hulu, Viewster, Daisuki and the Aniplex Channel from the 4th of July.
