MangaGamer to Release Umineko Visual Novel on Steam

Video game localization and publishing company MangaGamer announced at its panel at Anime Expo on Saturday that it will release Ryukishi07/07th Expansion's mystery suspense dōjin game Umineko - When They Cry visual novel on Steam.
The Umineko - When They Cry release will have an updated translation with cooperation from Witch Hunt, and it will include new sprite art and the full original soundtrack. The release will also include the option for new or old sprite art.
MangaGamer describes the visual novel as follows:
In Umineko, the player will join Battler, a scion of the wealthy Ushiromiya family, as he attends their annual reunion on the island of Rokkenjima for the first time in six years. However, that night, a disaster falls upon the Ushiromiya family, and they all begin to fear for their very lives. Battler's cousin Maria believes the golden witch Beatrice has returned and committed murder through magic, but Battler doesn't believe in such a fantasy. Still, could anyone in his family really have killed their own kin for the sake of riches? You know both the situation leading up to the incident and its tragic result, but the course of events is an enigma, and no one willing to share the whole truth. What really happened on Rokkenjima that night?
NIS America released the anime adaptation on home video, and Yen Press is releasing the manga adaptation in omnibus editions.
MangaGamer also announced that it will be releasing Frontwing's PC remake of Blank Note's Himawari: The Sunflower game. The company will release an adult version on its site and an all-ages version on Steam. Those who order the adult version will also receive a free copy of the Steam version.

Himawari: The Sunflower tells a tale of love, tragedy, and sacrifice played out on two stages – Earth, and outer space. Enter Hinata Youichi, a young high school student and sole survivor of a tragic spaceplane crash that robbed him of both his family and memories roughly two years prior. Additionally, MangaGamer will release St. Michael's A Kiss For The Petals -Remembering How We Met, which is the newest chapter in the A Kiss For The Petals yuri game series. A Kiss For The Petals -Remembering How We Met is an all-ages romance title that was originally a mobile game, and MangaGamer will be porting it to PC.

Remembering How We Met is a great chapter for those who new to the series as it tells the brand new story of Risa and Miya's romance while looking back on the history of their time in St. Michael's Girls' School. Their story is unique, even within the franchise, as Risa and Miya were initially antagonistic toward each other. MangaGamer also revealed that it has formed a partnership with adult game company Alice Soft, and the two companies will release Beat Blades Haruka in English as their first title. The game inspired a three-episode adult video anime series in 2009-2010.
