Girl Friend NOTE Smartphone Game Posts Opening Story Anime Video

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Akio Ohtsuka plays Seiō Academy chairman in anime short for rhythm action game

Ameba began streaming the opening story anime on Saturday for its Girl Friend (♪) (Girl Friend Note) iOS and Android smartphone game. The game is a rhythm action game spinoff of Ameba's Girl Friend BETA game.

In the video, the students of Seiō Academy are discussing how the school's chairman is visiting the school today, and they wonder what he's like. Fumio says according to the rumors he has a mustache, he's lazy, but he's also kind of cute, so Shiina pictures a sloth. The real chairman, however, is completely different than what Shiina had pictured. The chairman suddenly announces a "country-wide student dance battle royale" competition. The chairman then explains the structure of the competition: contestants must enter as a unit, and will sing and dance. Afterward, the group plays a lottery, and the player wins the role of the unit leader.

The cast features:

Akio Ohtsuka as Chairman Sōshirō Takegami
Satomi Satou as Shiina Kokomi
Rina Satō as Akane Sakurai
Sakura Tange as Chloe Lemaire
Kaori Nazuka as Fumio Murakami

Ameba will release the game before the end of the year. The game will be free to play, but in-game items will cost extra.

CyberAgent's blogging website Ameba started service for the Girl Friend BETA game for smartphones in 2012. As of June 2014, the number of registered users has passed 5.3 million. The game features over one hundred girls for the player to date, each voiced by a different voice actress. A television anime adaptation premiered in October 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired.
