Alice in the Country of Hearts Developer Artmove Suspends Business

posted on by Egan Loo
Company behind otome game brand QuinRose experienced sales decline

Artmove, a company that developed, produced, and released romance adventure games aimed at women under the brand name QuinRose, suspended business on September 25. According to the business information firm Tokyo Shōkō Research, the decline in sales (due to the growing competitiveness in the marketplace, the growth of mobile games, and other factors) led to this step.

QuinRose's official web ordering site has stopped selling new games, including the PS Vita game Genji Koi Emaki. The game just went on sale on September 17.

Under the QuinRose brand, Artmove released such games as Alice in the Country of Hearts and Arabians Lost. Alice in the Country of Hearts inspired a long-running string of manga adaptations that became bestsellers in the United States. The franchise also spawned the anime film Alice in the Country of Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World and a stage musical.
