Crunchyroll Stream Mr. Osomatsu, Peeping Life Season 1??, JK Meshi! Anime

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it is streaming the Mr. Osomatsu (Osomatsu-san), Yuruyuri San Hai!, Peeping Life Season 1??, JK Meshi!, and Bottom Biting Bug (Oshiri Kajiri Mushi) season 4 anime as they air in Japan.

The first episode of Mr. Osomatsu launched on Monday, and future episodes will be available on Mondays at 1:45 p.m. EDT. The stream will be available worldwide outside of Asia.

Fujio Akatsuka's original Osomatsu-kun manga and "high tension comedy" TV anime centered on the Matsuno household, which has six naughty and mischievous sons (who are sextuplets). All of the sextuplets, including the eldest Osomatsu, are all in love with the same girl, Totoko. The original series followed the family when the sons were 10 years old.

The first 56-episode series aired in Japan in 1966-1967. Akira Shigino (Time Bokan: Royal Revival, Marude Dameo, Crayon Shin-chan: Otakebe! Kasukabe Yasei Ōkoku) directed the series, and Mainichi Broadcasting, Studio Zero, and Children's Corner produced the series. Studio Pierrot animated the second 86-episode series, which aired from 1988-1989. Shigino served as chief director.

The staff are creating the new anime to commemorate what would have been Akatsuka's 80th birthday (Akatsuka passed away in 2008 at age 72).

Akatsuka launched the Osomatsu-kun manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 1962, and the manga ran in the magazine until 1969. The manga then ran in Weekly Shonen King from 1972-1973, and then in Comic BonBon from 1987-1990. The compiled manga volumes have more than 10 million copies in print.

Yuruyuri San Hai!, the third Yuruyuri television anime series, began streaming on Monday. Future episodes will stream on Mondays at 2:15 p.m. EDT. The stream will be available worldwide outside of Japan, though in Asia it will be exclusive to premium members.

The various Yuruyuri anime projects adapt Namori's manga about four fun-loving schoolgirls who take over the former room of a tea ceremony club for their own "Goraku-bu" (amusement club).

The main staff, while different from the first two seasons, will return from the Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi! original video anime (OVA) for the third season. Hiroyuki Hata (Recently, my sister is unusual., Kamichu!) is directing the series at TYO Animations (Samurai Warriors, Tamayura - Hitotose). Motohiro Taniguchi (Recently, my sister is unusual.) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Makoto Fukami (Chotto Kawaii Iron Maiden, Psycho-Pass) is joining the staff and work with Hata on the scenario.

The first anime series premiered in Japan in July 2011, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The 12-episode sequel series Yuruyuri♪♪ premiered in July 2012, and Crunchyroll also streamed that series as it aired. The Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi! original video anime project shipped in February, after running in theaters last November.

The first episode of Peeping Life Season 1?? is now available, and future episodes will stream on Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The stream will be available in the United States (and its territories), Canada, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean), United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, and the Netherlands.

The Peeping Life CG anime franchise has more than 200 episodes. CoMix Wave Films and BROSTA TV premiered the comedy series on the BS Asahi Premium television network in December 2008, and started streaming the series online in the same month. The new series will feature characters from Tezuka Productions and Tatsunoko Production franchises, and will also feature characters from the previous Peeping Life series.

The first episode of JK Meshi! launched on Monday, and future episodes will be available on Mondays at 1:35 p.m. EDT. The stream will be available worldwide outside of Japan and China.

In Japanese, “JK” is an abbreviation for “joshi kousei”, or high school girl, and “meshi” means “cooked rice” or “meal”, so it is only suitable that the anime focuses on 3 high school girls, Reina, Ryoka, and Ruriko, who have mastered the art of cooking simple, B-class dishes called JK meshi. Cooking enthusiasts or those who simply want to learn will want to tune in to this show, as the anime will show viewers how to cook dishes by showing common ingredients and simple, easy-to-learn steps.

Huzituka is designing the characters and directing the anime. Hiroshi Namiki and Michiko Matsumoto are handling the animation at studios Kyōfū Tomato (Kyotoma) and Office Noble. Takafumi Hosoi is handling music and sound effects.

The first episode of Bottom Biting Bug 4 launched on Monday, and future episodes will stream on Mondays at 8:25 a.m. EDT. The stream is available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean), Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, France, French DOM-TOM, Andorra, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco.

The first season ran for 20 five-minute episodes, the second season ran for 32, and the third ran for 10. Crunchyroll streamed all three of the previous series.
