K: Dog & Cat Spinoff Manga Ends

Rin Kimura, Hideyuki Furuhashi launched series in May

The November issue of Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine revealed on Saturday that Rin Kimura will end the K: Dog & Cat spinoff manga in the December issue, which will ship on November 18. Hideyuki Furuhashi (GoRA) wrote the manga's story, and GoRA is credited as the original creator.

Kimura launched the manga in the June issue of the magazine on May 18. The manga takes place after the first season of the television anime series, and focuses on the new character Kizuna in a quiet story. The announcement for the series had featured the following tagline: "Following spinning emotions, search for Kizuna who is linked." (In Japanese, "kizuna" is a female name as well as the word for bonds or relationships between people.)

Kimura and Furuhashi previously launched the three-volume K: The First manga in Monthly G Fantasy in 2013, and the duo ended the series in April. The manga's story takes place in a world where seven people with unusual powers are crowned as “kings,” and revolves around the “bonds” and “fate” between the people involved.

The K franchise includes two TV anime series, an anime film, and multiple spinoff manga. The K: Return of Kings television anime series premiered earlier this month.
