Switch Manga Creators 'Naked Ape' Draw Manga of Rampo Edogawa's Kotō no Oni Novel

The February issue of Kodansha's Aria magazine announced on Monday that manga creator duo naked ape will draw a manga adaptation of Rampo Edogawa's Kotō no Oni (Demon of the Lonely Island) novel. The series will launch in the next issue on January 28.
The story takes place in 1924 in Tokyo. A handosome young trader named Kinnosuke Minōra learns that his fiancé is murdered in a locked room. The elite doctor Michio Moroto, who's been in love with Minōra for a long time, asks to help solve the case.
Edogawa (Taro Hirai) is best known for his detective and suspense stories that he wrote over the course of four decades. His works have been adapted into a number of anime and manga, including the Boys Detective manga, the Wanpaku Tanteidan anime series, and the Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace anime.
His Kotō no Oni novel was serialized in the popular literature magazine Asahi from 1929 to 1930.

Otoh Saki and Tomomi Nakamura make up the naked ape creator duo. Viz Media published the 13 volumes of their Switch manga's original 2002-2008 run. The detective series resumed in 2013 and ended in March 2014. Switch inspired a two-episode video anime series in 2008 and 2009.
