The File of Young Kindaichi Returns Manga Goes on Hiatus Until June

Authors preparing new arc in detective manga

This year's 18th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine revealed on Wednesday that Seimaru Amagi and Fumiya Sato's Kindaichi Shōnen no Jikenbo R (The File of Young Kindaichi Returns) manga will go on hiatus. The manga will return in this year's 28th issue of the magazine on June 8. The magazine notes that the authors are preparing for a new arc in the detective manga. The manga had just concluded its "Kokuryō Hotel no Satsujin Jiken" (The Kokuryō Hotel Murder Case) arc in the same issue.

The story centers around a high school boy named Hajime Kindaichi who usually seems dull — but when there is a case, he demonstrates remarkable deductive skills inherited from his famous detective grandfather.

The manga is a sequel to Yōzaburō Kanari and Fumiya Sato's original Kindaichi Case Files manga. Amagi and Sato launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2012. Kodansha published the manga's ninth compiled book volume on March 17.

The sequel manga inspired a television anime. The anime's first season premiered in Japan in April 2014, and the second season premiered in Japan last October, and ended last Saturday. Crunchyroll streamed the first and second seasons as they aired in Japan.
