Dai-Shogun Creator Shares 360° Promo Video for Kickstarter

Project aims to create 1 minute of VR anime

Anime creator Kazuya Sasahara (Cat Shit One: The Animated Series) began streaming a promotional video for his Kickstarter campaign to create a virtual reality 3DCG-animated reboot of Dai - Shogun - Great Revolution. The video is in 360-degree panorama, which can be explored with the arrows in the top left corner.

The project aims to create a one-minute 360-degree panorama VR movie that will be viewable on VR devices, PC, and smartphones. As of press time, the Kickstarter has raised US$43,908 of its US$200,000 goal with 25 hours remaining.

Sasahara previously streamed videos introducing the main characters and mecha, as well as a "sexy cut collection."

If funded, the project is slated for completion by December 12, 2016. Sasahara stated that his ultimate goal is to make a full-length theatrical film.

Those who pledge for the US$25 tier will receive the 360° 4K Movie for GearVR and Oculus Rift, as well a 360° video for smartphones. The US$60 tier will offer a Blu-ray and DVD. Higher-tier rewards include a digital copy of the script and storyboard, an autographed illustration, CG model data, the opportunity to design a character for the anime, and a VIP studio tour.

An earlier concept movie revealed the staff. Shunya Yamashita is designing the characters and Makoto Ishiwata is handling mechanical design with Hideyuki Matsumoto. ILCA has is handling the 3D animation for the project. Studio GOONEYS is supporting the project.
