Jakarta's ComicFest ID Hosts Manga Creator Gaku Miyao

Indonesian convention ComicFest ID announced last week that it will host animator and manga creator Gaku Miyao.
Miyao began his career as an animator, and worked doing key animation on such anime as the Ace wo Nerae! film, The Door into Summer, Space Adventure Cobra, and Urusei Yatsura: Only You. He provided the character designs for Madhouse's six-episode OVA series Devil Hunter Yohko, which was released from 1990 to 1995. He launched his career as a manga creator with his Shichimi Nadeshiko Unon series, which ran in the Anime V magazine in 1993. He later launched a manga adaptation of Devil Hunter Yohko in 1996.
His Aoba Jitensha Ten (Aoba Bicycle Shop) manga ran from 1999 to 2007 in Shonengahosha's Young King magazine, and Shonengahosha published 20 compiled book volumes for the series. He launched a sequel series, which ran from 2007 to 2012, which also had 20 volumes. He launched a third series titled Aoba Jitensha Ten e Yōkoso! in Young King Ours in 2012, which is currently ongoing. Shonengahosha published the manga's 13th compiled book volume last December.
Elex Media Komputindo published all 20 volumes of the original Aoba Bicycle Shop manga in Indonesia last year.
ComicFest ID will be held at the SMESCO Exhibition Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 28 and 29.
