5 Companies Establish 'Anime no Me' Brand, Programming Block

TMS Entertainment, Shinei Animation, East Japan Marketing & Communications, Inc., Sumitomo Corporation, and Asmik-Ace Entertainment announced a new anime brand and programming block titled "Anime no Me" on Wednesday.
The five companies aim to produce anime under a new anime business model. The "Me" in "Anime no Me" means "eye," and the name was chosen to evoke an "eye of the typhoon," or "center of the storm." The companies are advertising a high quality lineup.
The brand's first two anime projects are the anime adaptation of Gido Amagakure's Sweetness and Lightning (Amaama to Inazuma) manga and the Trickster anime. Sweetness and Lightning will premiere on Tokyo MX and Yomiuri TV on July 4, and on BS11 on July 5. Trickster is slated for October.
TMS Entertainment is a production studio behind titles such as Anpanman, Case Closed/Detective Conan, and Lupin III, while Shinei Animation produces Crayon Shin-chan and Doraemon among other titles. East Japan Marketing & Communications, Inc. has assisted in production for various anime titles, Suitomo Corporation is a trading company that is active in the broadcast and communications industry, and Asmik-Ace Entertainment helped produce anime such as Time of Eve and Nodame Cantabile.
