Final Fantasy's Hironobu Sakaguchi Plans New Development Company

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi announced during a Mistwalker livestream this month that he is planning a new development company that will be located in Roppongi, Tokyo. He mentioned that he is considering the name "Dawnwalker" for the new company, and shared the image to the right along with the phrase "now recruiting staff."
Sakaguchi was an employee at Square since its inception as an independent company in 1986. He was employed as director of planning and development and created the first Final Fantasy role-playing game. (Its name was a reference to his plan to leave game development if the game was unsuccessful.) He went on to direct four other games in the Final Fantasy franchise, and was the producer on nine more until Final Fantasy X-2.
He also produced Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, and Kingdom Hearts, and other Square titles. In 2004, one year after Square merged with rival company Enix to form Square Enix, Sakaguchi left Square to found Mistwalker, which went on to make the Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, The Last Story, and Terra Battle video games. The company is collaborating with Bravely Default's Silicon Studio for a new game.
