New York Anime Convention 'Anime NYC' to Launch November 2017

Organizers plan major anime con in NYC

Event company LeftField Media announced on Tuesday that it will launch Anime NYC, a new anime convention in New York City. The convention will take place from November 17-19, 2017 at the Javits Center.

The event aims to become a major anime convention in New York City, after the New York Anime Festival convention was folded into New York Comic Con in 2012. It plans to host exhibits, screenings, panels, and Japanese media creators. The event will begin selling tickets and release more details this coming November.

LeftField Media founder Greg Topalian and LeftField Media's head of content Peter Tatara are organizing the convention. Both Topalian and Tatara were formerly affiliated with ReedPOP and New York Comic Con, and Tatara also managed guests and events at the New York Anime Festival convention.

Crunchyroll is the convention's title sponsor, with Funimation, Viz Media, and Kinokuniya Bookstore also signed on as sponsors.
