Zakuro Creator/Penguindrum Designer Lily Hoshino Goes on Hiatus After Giving Birth to Boy

Otome Yōkai Zakuro manga creator and Penguindrum character designer Lily Hoshino announced on Saturday that she gave birth to a boy on Friday. She stated she will take a hiatus to take care of her newborn son. Hoshino added she hopes to return to her regular work as soon as possible.
Her Otome Yōkai Zakuro and Kigurumi Guardians (Kigurumi Bōei-tai) manga are currently ongoing. The 10th volume of Otome Yōkai Zakuro (pictured at right) shipped in March 2015, and the 11th volume is slated for March 2017. The third volume of Kigurumi Guardians shipped in April 2015.
Otome Yōkai Zakuro inspired a 13-episode television anime series that aired in 2010. NIS America released the anime on DVD in 2012.
Hoshino announced in January that she had gotten married.
