12-episode series premiering on January 6 unveils 2nd key visual

The official website for the anime of Kouji Seo's Fūka manga began streaming the series' second promotional video on Friday. The video previews voice actress and singer Megumi Nakajima's ending theme song "Watashi no Sekai" (My World). Seo wrote the lyrics for the song.

Nakajima is returning from a nearly three-year hiatus to continue her musical activities and perform the ending theme. The single will ship on February 15.

The website also unveiled the anime's second key visual:

The website revealed details of the home video release, and the schedule suggests that the anime series will run for 12 episodes. The first Blu-ray Disc and DVD release will ship on March 29 with the first two episodes. The website lists one of six total volumes shipping every month with two episodes. The limited-edition version of each volume will bundle an original "wild new experience" manga by Seo that focuses on one of the main characters. The first Blu-ray Disc and DVD volume will bundle a full-color 16-page manga about Fūka.

The anime's cast includes:

Lynn as Fūka Akitsuki

Saori Hayami as Koyuki Hinashi

Yūsuke Kobayashi as Yū Haruna

Mikako Komatsu as Sara Iwami

Sōma Saitō as Makoto Mikasa

Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kazuya Nachi

  • Mikako Takahashi as Mayu Haruna
  • Saori Ōnishi as Hibiki Haruna
  • Kaede Hondo as Chitose Haruna
  • Yōko Hikasa as Tomomi-sensei
  • Kanako Mitsuhashi as Suzuka Akitsuki (reprising role from Suzuka anime)
  • Daisuke Nakamura as Yamato Akitsuki (reprising role from Suzuka anime)

Keizou Kusakawa (KanColle, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's) is directing the anime at diomedea (Squid Girl, Handa-kun). Aoi Akashiro (Endride, KonoSuba) is in charge of series composition, and Yoshino Honda (The Lost Village, Astarotte's Toy animation director) is designing the characters. Takurō Iga (Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A, Yuyake Dandan shorts) and West Ground (The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water, KanColle theme song composition) are composing the music.

Manami Numakura, who is also voicing Hedgehogs band member Tama in the anime, is performing the opening theme song "Climber's High!"

The anime will premiere on WOWOW on January 6 at 10:00 p.m. before airing on Tokyo MX and MBS on January 7 and on Hiroshima TV and BS11 on January 8. Various streaming services in Japan will also stream the episodes after they air on television.

The story centers on a young man named Yū Haruna who has just switched schools. He's a bit shy, and he's constantly glued to his smartphone so he can check Twitter. He meets a girl named Fūka Akitsuki, who doesn't even have a cell phone, is free-spirited, and naturally fascinates others. Yū recently has been getting back in touch via Twitter with his childhood friend Koyuki Hinashi, who is now a popular singer. One day Yū invites Fūka to one of Koyuki's concerts, and there the three meet for the first time. The story follows the love triangle between a love that started through electronics, and a love that didn't start through electronics. Fūka is the daughter of the protagonists from Seo's earlier manga Suzuka.
