Horimiya's Daisuke Hagiwara Starts New Manga Serialization Next Month

Shizuku Totono writes romantic comedy about masked man, young wife

This year's February issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine will confirm on Thursday that Daisuke Hagiwara (Horimiya) and Shizuku Totono are launching a serialization of their NE NE NE (Nen Ne no Ne) manga in the magazine's March issue, which ships on February 10. New chapters will run every other month. Hagiwara is illustrating, and Totono is writing the story.

The series began in Monthly Shonen Gangan as a short-term serialization last July. The third and final chapter ran in September, at which time the magazine announced that a full series would begin in 2017. The magazine later confirmed in November that the series would begin in February. The short-term serialization's first chapter is available online in Japanese on the official Shonen Gangan website.

NE NE NE is a romantic comedy about Shin, a 37-year-old masked virgin man, who is arranged to marry 16-year-old Koyuki. The manga follows the everyday miracles of this couple.

Hagiwara launched his ongoing Horimiya manga in Monthly G Fantasy in 2011 as a spinoff to HERO's Hori-san to Miyamura-kun four-panel school comedy manga. The tenth and most recent compiled volume shipped in November. Yen Press is publishing the manga in North America, and will ship the sixth volume on January 24.
