Hiroshi Miyamoto directs film slated for March in Japan

The staff of the upcoming Eiga Precure Dream Stars! (Precure The Movie: Dream Stars!) anime film revealed a trailer, new poster visual, story summary, and guest cast on Friday. The staff also announced that Hiroshi Miyamoto, the director of the CG "Precure to Refi no Wonder Night!" part of the Go! Princess Pretty Cure the Movie Go! Go!! Gorgeous Triple Feature!!! omnibus film, is directing and designing the characters for Eiga Precure Dream Stars!.

The film is a departure from the franchise's "All Stars" film series. It will feature 12 Precure from 2015's Go! Princess Precure!, 2016's Maho Girls Precure!, and the upcoming Kirakira ☆ Precure a la Mode anime. In the story, a mysterious girl named Sakura appears before Cure Whip. Sakura comes from another world, where one day the evil Karasutengu crow-billed goblin, bent on stealing the world's pretty things, emerges and kidnaps her friend, a fox named Shizuku. Sakura seeks out the Precure for their help.

Kana Asumi will play Sakura and Yoshino Kimura will play Shizuku (pictured below), a character who holds the key to the story. Kimura will also perform the ending theme song "Kimi o Yobu Basho" (Place Where I Call You). The trailer above previews the song.

Ryōta Yamasato will play Karasutengu (pictured first below). The comic duo Rice (Jin Tadokoro and Tomohiro Sekimachi) will play the yellow dog and red dog that serve Yamasato's character.

The film will combine cell animation and full CG animation. It will open in Japan on March 18.

A Precure All Stars film has opened every March since 2009. All eight films have featured characters from all Precure television series. The eighth film, Eiga Precure All Stars Minna de Utau♪ Kiseki no Mahō! (Precure All Stars The Movie: Everyone Sing♪ Miraculous Magic!), opened in Japan on March 19.

Eiga Mahō Tsukai Precure! Kiseki no Henshin! Cure Mofurun!, the anime film based on the Maho Girls Precure! (Mahō Tsukai Precure!) television anime, opened in Japan on Saturday.

Update: Trailer, additional visual added.
