Orignal game project, mystery novel in the works

Game director Hidetaka Suehiro (also known as Swery or Swery65) announced on Monday that he has launched a new game development company called White Owls. The company launched on November 1, 2016 in Osaka.

The company's website lists an as-yet-untitled original game project. The website also has a "novels" section, which lists Swery's upcoming mystery novel tentatively titled I am Not a Cat. The novel, which Swery describes as his first, is slated for commercial publication in Japan in 2017.

The developer announced in November that he had resigned from Access Games in August. He had previously announced in November 2015 that he was taking a break from game development due to hypoglycemia.

In 2002, Swery65 was a founding member of Access Games, where he began his career directing games with Spy Fiction. He went on to work on Deadly Premonition, Lord of Arcana, and Lord of Apocalypse. Most recently, he directed D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die at Access Games, and Microsoft released the game for Xbox One in September 2014. The episodic murder-mystery game's PC version launched in June 2015.
