Naruto: Chibi Sasuke's Sharingan Legend Manga Approaches Climax, Boruto Spinoff Starts

Kenji Taira launches new spin-off series in Saikyō Jump magazine

The March issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine announced on Friday that Kenji Taira's Uchiha Sasuke no Sharingan Den (Naruto: Chibi Sasuke's Sharingan Legend) manga, a spin-off series of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto, is approaching its climax. The word "climax" written in the phonetic katakana alphabet often refers to the final chapter of a manga. The issue also announced that Taira will launch Boruto, a new spin-off series of Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto's Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga series, in the magazine's April issue on March 3.

Uchiha Sasuke no Sharingan Den revolves around Sasuke Uchiha, a user of the Sharingan eye. Although he is usually cool, he also has a humorous side to him.

Taira launched the spin-off manga in October 2014. Shueisha published the manga's second compiled book volume (pictured right) on July 29. North American manga publisher Viz Media began posting chapters of the series in English online in June, and most recently published the manga's 14th chapter on December 22. Taira's other Naruto spin-off, Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden, ran in Saikyō Jump from 2010 to 2014. The manga inspired the 51-episode Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals anime series in 2012-2013, which Crunchyroll and Viz Media both streamed as it aired.

Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on May 9, based on and as a sequel to Kishimoto's Naruto manga. Boruto's titular main character is the protagonist of the Boruto -Naruto the Movie- anime film, and the manga has so far been an adaptation of that film. The manga is receiving an anime adaptation with an original story premiering in April.
