'You don't know GUNMA yet.' Manga Gets Live-Action Series, Film

Shōtarō Mamiya stars in adaptations of Hiroto Ida's manga; 4-episode series airs in March

Live-action television and film adaptations of Hiroto Ida's You Don't Know Gunma Yet (Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai) manga have been green-lit. The four-episode television series will air on NTV from March 6 to 27. Shōtarō Mamiya will star as protagonist Nori Kamitsuki.

The comedy manga centers on Nori Kamitsuki, who moves from Chiba Prefecture to a fictionalized version of Gunma Prefecture northwest of Tokyo, and the story focuses on Gunma's culture. Before moving to Gunma, Kamitsuki only sees that the prefecture has a fearsome reputation on the net. Upon moving, he soon makes contact with the people who hold a strong love of Gunma's culture.

The live-action adaptations will develop an original story that will focus on Kamitsuki's romantic relationship with the story's heroine Kyō Shinooka. Kaku Mizuno is directing the series at NTV AX-ON, with scripts by Shōgo Kashida.

Ida launched the manga in Shinchosha's online manga site Kurage Bunch in October 2013. Shinchosha published the manga's sixth compiled book volume last June, and will publish the seventh volume on Thursday.

The JManga site previously released the first volume of Ida's Nogi manga in 2011.
