Malaysian publisher Gempak Starz announced last week that it has licensed Makoto Shinkai's 5 Centimeters Per Second novel, Makoto Haruno's Dedaun Cinta Konoha (Kitsune no Konoha) manga, and Vega Nakashima's Sirius Di Langit Suram (Donten ni Sirius) manga.

5 Centimeters Per Second focuses on Tono Takaki, telling the story through three stages of his life and describing his weakening connection and relationship to a girl he once loved. In the first part, set in his middle school years, he tries to make his way to one final meeting with Shinohara Akari, a girl who he befriended in elementary. With Akari moving away, he realizes this will be his final meeting with her, and he braves the snow and the circumstances to see her. The second part is set during Tono's high school life, when Tono is still thinking about Akari, ignorant to the feelings of a girl named Kanae who has fallen in love with him. The third part is set during Tono's adulthood, where he struggles to hold down a job and a relationship as he continues to find things that remind him about Akari.

5 Centimeters Per Second is based on Shinkai's film of the same name, with photographs also by him. It is the first novel that Shinkai published. Arata Kanō later wrote a spinoff novel for the film with the title One more side. Kanō has also penned the novelizations for other Shinkai films, including The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Voices of a Distant Star, and the Kimi no Na wa. AnotherSide: Earthbound spinoff novel for Shinkai's your name.

Gempak Starz previously released the manga and novel versions of your name.

Dedaun Cinta Konoha centers on Konoha, a wild fox that falls in love with the human convenience store employee Mizuno. She transforms into human form and tries her hardest to get close to him, but it worries her friend Kureha, another wild fox that watches over her.

Haruno published the short manga in Hakusensha's LaLa DX magazine in 2014. Hakusensha published the manga's one compiled book volume in January 2015.

Haruno drew the Legendz manga in the Monthly Shonen Jump magazine from 2003 to 2005. The manga was part of the Legendz multimedia project, which included the Legendz: Yomigaeru Ryūō Densetsu television anime in 2004.

Sirius Di Langit Suram centers on Hinoka, a high school student who has just finished moving cities for the seventh time in her life. Since she moves so much, she has refrained from getting too connected, and in her new high school, she resolves to join the astronomy club, figuring that there wouldn't be too many people there. Instead, she found that both the advisor and the club members were each overflowing with personality. Leading this entire club was Yūki, who Hinoka finds herself slowly but surely drawn to.

Nakashima launched the manga in Shogakukan's Betsucomi magazine in 2013, and ended it in 2014. Shogakukan published one compiled book volume for the manga.
