Kō Shigenobu is writing novel based around Boruto's school life

Shueisha has revealed that the Boruto franchise will get a novel titled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - Novel 1 on May 2. Kō Shigenobu (F.E.A.R., Tenka Ryōran RPGs) is writing the novel. Masashi Kishimoto, the original creator of the Naruto manga, is credited for the original work alongside Boruto manga artist Mikie Ikemoto and writer Ukyō Kodachi.

The novel will center around Boruto entering the ninja academy along with Sarada, Shikadai, Inojin, and Chōchō to face a coming threat to their school life.

Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump last May, based on and as a sequel to Kishimoto's Naruto manga. Boruto's titular main character is the protagonist of the Boruto -Naruto the Movie- anime film. The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo on Wednesday. Viz Media is simulcasting the series on Hulu as it airs in Japan, with new episodes every Wednesday. Crunchyroll also began streaming the anime on Wednesday.
